Auto makers are devoting considerable resources on developing future-ready green mobility technologies and products with increasing focus on developing a domestic ecosystem for vehicles powered by electricity, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and green hydrogen.

Focus on clean energy pathways, technologies and products was a dominant theme at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo (BMGE) 2025 with firms such as Cummins India, Tata Motors and Schaeffler India showcasing mobility solutions focusing on hydrogen and LNG.

Cummins launched an advanced Hydrogen Fuel Delivery System (FDS) with Type IV on-vehicle storage vessels and the innovative B6.7N natural gas engine. Nitin Jirafe, Head of Engine Business at Cummins India, told businessline, “Our advanced hydrogen FDS, with its 700-bar storage capability, addresses a critical challenge in the hydrogen economy — safe and efficient on-vehicle storage.”

B6.7N Engine

This innovation strengthens India’s hydrogen value chain, bringing us closer to realising the vision of energy independence and self-reliance, while enabling a sustainable future for commercial transportation, added Jirafe, who is also the Managing Director of Tata Cummins. “The B6.7N Natural Gas Engine exemplifies our commitment to providing solutions for India’s sustainability goals. It enables fleet operators to transition to cleaner fuels without compromising on performance, or operating economics,” he noted.

By offering diesel-equivalent performance with significantly lower emissions, the B6.7N helps India address urban air quality challenges while supporting the efficient movement of goods across the nation. This innovation aligns perfectly with India’s focus on expanding natural gas usage in the transportation sector, Jirafe noted.

Tata Motors also unveiled a range of mobility solutions from personal vehicles to trucks focusing on green energy transition. The company has on display an array of green mobility solutions powered by a variety of decarbonising technologies — hydrogen, electric, natural gas and flex-fuel. The automobile major unveiled six zero-emission EVs, ranging from mini trucks and pickups to intermediate and heavy trucks, alongside buses designed for comfortable, long-distance travel.

Prima trucks

Its next-generation hydrogen-powered Prima truck is set to revolutionise long-haul trucking. Besides, it also launched Prima G.55S, an LNG truck with a travelling range of up to 2,400 km. It is powered by a Cummins 6.7L gas engine. It is set to make a significant impact in industries such as coal, construction aggregates, steel, and cement. It also showcased the Prima H.28, which is anindigenously developed H2 ICE truck with a range of around 550 km.

Schaeffler India, a motion technology company, is showcasing a comprehensive range of products and solutions that address both existing and future demands of the mobility ecosystem including transmissions systems, engines, chassis and e-mobility. The company demonstrated various advanced automotive solutions, including the 3-in-1 Electric Axle, which integrates the motor, transmission, and power electronics for superior EV performance.

Additionally, the display also features the high-voltage axle drive (EMR4), sensors, controls, and actuator solutions from the integrated portfolio in collaboration with Vitesco Technologies, a Schaeffler Group company. Other automakers also showcased electric-powered vehicles targeting the logistics sector at the BMGE.

VE Commercial Vehicles unveiled the Eicher Pro X Range marking its entry into the 2-3.5T Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) segment for mid and last-mile logistics. Omega Seiki launched the M1KA 1.0 electric truck, priced at ₹6,99,000 at the BMGE. The company also unveiled the upgraded 2025 Stream City, a next-generation electric passenger vehicle.

Eka Mobility showcased an expansive range of electric commercial vehicles, which includes over 11 distinct platforms spanning electric buses, trucks, and small commercial vehicles (SCVs). Similarly, Montra Electric (TI Clean Mobility) launched ‘EVIATOR’ (e SCV) and Super Cargo (e 3-Wheeler) in the presence of the entire leadership team of the brand.
