GORAKHPUR: In a significant move to enhance local development initiatives, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur, and Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday. The agreement aims to foster cooperation in various construction and development projects managed by the Municipal Corporation and Gorakhpur Mayor Manglesh Srivastava and MMMUT VC Prof. J.P. A multidisciplinary team of experts from civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineering will lead these efforts, with a structural engineering professor overseeing the team.
Mayor Srivastava highlighted MMMUT’s long-standing contribution to the region’s development and welcomed the university’s active role in local infrastructure growth.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saini emphasized that the university was envisioned as a technical resource for the state, and this collaboration brings that vision to life. Municipal Commissioner Sogarwal added that MMMUT’s technical expertise would greatly benefit the corporation.
Discussions were also held about potential internship opportunities for students from civil, electrical, and IT departments at the Municipal Corporation.
