The official tweet stated, ‘District Magistrate Patna has banned educational activities up to class 8 in schools, Anganwadi centres and pre-schools till January 18, in view of the safety of children’s health in extreme cold. Instructions have been given to keep the teaching time in classes above 9 between 9 to 3:30 pm only.’
The order came into effect on January 16, 2025, and will remain in place until January 18, 2025.
The District Magistrate of Patna made this decision due to extremely cold weather and low temperatures in the district, which are likely to affect the health of children. As per the information, all schools up to class 8 have been closed since January 5 in Patna.
Students, parents, and guardians are advised to stay in contact with the respective school authorities for updates on classes.
In other news, the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) directed all schools to conduct hybrid classes for students up to Class 9 and Class 11, following the implementation of stage four curbs under the Graded Response Action Plan. This decision was prompted by a sharp decline in air quality in the city.
