Rajasthan CET 2024 Begins Tomorrow, Jeans Not Allowed: Check Dress Code, Gate Timings, and Exam Day Guidelines to Follow
Rajasthan CET 2024: Essential Exam Guidelines, Dress Code Restrictions, and Free Travel for Candidates

The Rajasthan Senior Secondary Common Eligibility Test (CET) is set to commence on October 22, 2024, with a record-breaking number of applicants expected to participate. The Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB) has announced that a total of 18,63,082 candidates have applied for the exam. Given the scale of this examination, candidates are advised to be well-prepared and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the RSMSSB.
Candidates should arrive at the examination centres at least two hours prior to the start time, allowing sufficient time for security checks and seating arrangements. The gates will close one hour before the exam begins, so timely arrival is crucial. The CET will take place across three days — October 22, 23, and 24 — with morning and afternoon shifts scheduled from 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm, respectively.
Important Dress Code Regulations
In a notable change this year, candidates are now permitted to wear full-sleeve shirts or T-shirts, although jeans are strictly prohibited. The decision to ban jeans is based on the presence of metal components in the fabric, which could pose security risks during the screening process. Therefore, candidates should opt for clothing without metal fastenings.
Male candidates should wear half or full-sleeve shirts and trousers, while female candidates can opt for salwar suits or sarees. Footwear must be slippers or sandals, and only simple rubber bands can be worn in hair. All forms of jewellery, including earrings, rings, and bracelets, are prohibited.
Essential Guidelines for Candidates
To ensure a smooth examination process, candidates must adhere to the following guidelines:
Required Documents: In addition to the e-admit card, candidates must bring a recent colour photograph (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm) and an original photo identification card, such as an Aadhaar card. This will be checked at the exam centre for identification purposes.
Arrive Early: Candidates are advised to arrive at the examination centre two hours before the exam starts. The gates will close one hour prior to the commencement of each shift, so punctuality is crucial.
Prohibited Items: A strict no-entries policy applies to items such as watches, shoes, belts, handbags, and any clothing that may contain metal. Candidates are advised to leave these items at home to avoid entry denial.
Free Travel: RSMSSB has introduced a provision for free travel on Rajasthan Roadways buses for candidates. Showing the admit card and Aadhaar card, candidates can travel for free from any city, village, or town in Rajasthan, two days before and two days after the exam.
Exam Format: The CET will feature a multiple-choice format with five options (A, B, C, D, E) for each question. If candidates choose not to attempt a question, they must mark option E. Incorrect answers will incur a penalty of one-third of the allotted marks.
Disqualification Policy: Candidates who fail to answer more than 10% of the questions or do not mark any option for such questions will face disqualification from the exam.
