Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday inaugurated the three-day Nayar Festival in the gram panchayat of Kinsur Bagi, Yamkeshwar assembly constituency, in Pauri Garhwal district. During the event, Dhami announced several development projects aimed at boosting the region’s growth and infrastructure.
“This festival would not only put the region on the global tourism map, but also boost economic, cultural and commercial activities in the area, benefiting local communities. By organising such events on the banks of Ganga and Nayar rivers, near the meditation site of Sage Vyas, we are fostering the growth of tourism infrastructure,” Dhami said.
Among the key initiatives unveiled by the CM were upgrading of the Devprayag-Satpuli and Devprayag-Buakhai roads to national highway status, construction of a 6km stretch of the Nand River road and approval of a mini stadium in the Laxman Jhula area.
Additionally, plans were made for building a double-lane RCC bridge over the Bin River near Ganga Bhogpur, tarring of the Jakhanikhal-Dhandoli road in Dwarikhal, and establishment of a degree college in Yamkeshwar, contingent upon the availability of land.Meanwhile, the CM also reaffirmed his promise to implement a Uniform Civil Code saying, “We pledged this to the people and will soon deliver on it.” He added that the govt is focusing on creating more employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth, noting that over 17,000 govt jobs were provided in the last three years.
